He could have chosen a TV character, someone from a book, an actress, a story about a teacher, or he could have even chosen Tina Fey! But he chose a political candidate. No big deal. It really wasn't about Sarah Palin at all. Jay does a great job on this blog. You should keep reading to get great insight on Kanakuk. All of us, you included quite frankly, should just check political biases at the door, lighten up a little, and enjoy all things Kanakuk.

All that was being done here was taking an current...

All that was being done here was taking an current example from our everyday life as a jumping point into a deeper question. It simply relates to Moms, all that we do and what we'd like to see from the new site to help our families. This type of writing model is used so often in devotional writing...use a relevant current situation (in this case the hot topic, VP nominee) and relate it to our spiritual life and ask some questions from the reader for reflection. That's all. Give some grace and come on back. This is an embracing community. I am just a kanakuk parent felt led to share. Back to your question, I think most moms are like her in that we work, we take care of a family and home and have very little time for anything else. As a single mom raising a son, I would love to have a place to pick up tips from others in the same situation as there aren't a whole lot of people at church who "look like me." I would also love to have Kanakuk think about adding weekend retreats for single parents and their kids rather than just the mother/daughter or father/son. My son doesn't have a lot of contact with his dad and a weekend where we could be with other people like us would be an amazing experience. We love Kanakuk and would read this blog even if you talked about politics every other day! I guess I am just looking for anything that would help others in the same place as me. Thanks for everything Kanakuk does.

Ok this is it for me, I had started reading this s...

Ok this is it for me, I had started reading this site as a way to stay connected with Kanakuk but the posts have had less and less to do with Kanakuk as the summer past.
